#DigitalMarketingScript Episode 21: Stop Online Marketing Right Now!
Today we’re going to talk about when you should stop your online marketing. I have two different thoughts on this one. They might seem contradictory at first, but hopefully you’ll see the method to this madness!
First up, you should stop your online marketing right now. If you’re not willing to fully commit, to go all in, really give it your all, and give your online marketing an actual budget, then you need to quit right now! Otherwise, it’s not going to work for you. You’re going to get frustrated, you’re not going to do the right things. You’re going to waste time, spinning your wheels, not going anywhere and nothing good is going to come out of it. So if you’re not willing to go all in, to give it the actual respect that it deserves, you need to stop right now.
Imagine you’re building a house for you and your family to live in. You just can’t “kind of” try to build a house, you either make one that will last or one that you never really cared for in the first place. Your online marketing is essentially your house, or even better, your “digital brick & mortar” store. No one wants to go in to the run down store that has one light working and no signs out front. Do or do not, but don’t half-try only to give up after a few months. That’s time and effort that could have been spent elsewhere!
With that said, you should never stop your online marketing! Well, not really never, never, but you should not stop until the market dictates that you stop. When your patients stop consuming information online, through social media, through blogs, through videos, through these different channels, that is when you need to switch. You should never stop until your patients are not communicating in that manner.
Will Facebook be around forever? Maybe, maybe not. The social media world is one that is always changing. MySpace used to be the the hippest place in town and now it’s a shadow of its former self. My point here is, when your patients migrate, so should you. Stay in touch with the online space that you’ll be marketing in. Where your patients are, that’s where you want to be!
So the two times you should stop your online marketing is right now or never. Thank you so much for reading, I’m Carl Britton Jr and as always, feel free to ask me a question!
