#DigitalMarketingScript Episode 18: Continue Learning More

Hey everybody, I’m Carl Britton Jr and today we’re going to talk about continuing to learn more about your field.

Now, you are very educated in everything you do in pharmacy, but you have to have some continued education as an independent business owner. We’re going to give you a few tips to make sure you are up to date on all of your social media, and what you can be doing to drive business.

First, a wonderful resource to make sure that you are up to date on all things social media, is socialmediaexaminer.com. If you need to learn about LinkedIn, Snapchat or anything else in this entire world, you can go to socialmediaexaminer.com and probably find that information. It is a wonderful resource if you have any questions regarding your social media. You may even learn of a burgeoning new social media platform that you’ll want to get in on at the ground level. Whatever it is, this site will certainly help.

The second tip is look at the movers and shakers in your industry. More than likely, there’s always going to be someone that’s a little bit more ahead of you, or doing a few things differently than you are. Make sure that you are watching these people and seeing what they’re doing. It’s okay to take some of their ideas. Don’t just copycat and have the same exact campaign. Make sure that you are watching the movers and shakers of your industry, because they will give you great ideas. For example, here at In Their Face, we love a guy named Gary Vee. We watch him, see what he finds exciting and go from there. Find who inspires you.

The third thing that you can be doing, and I’m a huge believer in, is having a round table discussion. Find the people that are offering the same services as you are in different markets. For instance, if you do travel vaccinations and you are in Oklahoma City, find someone in Dallas or in Florida who does the same thing. Look for places all over the United States and find out what is working for them. Ask how they are marketing themselves, how they are making successful health services, and then you can share your information with them and have that trade. That way you are not in competing markets, and are not losing any business share, but you are still getting these great ideas on what has worked in the past. Having that “mastermind group” that you can depend on to help you sell your different health services is very awesome. It can help you cultivate ideas you’ve had in your head for some time or make you realize what you wanted to do was not such a good idea from the start.
