Hey everybody and welcome to #DigitalMarketingScript, I’m Carl Britton Jr and today we’re going to talk about getting your 2017(or 2018!) calendar prepared!
Here are a few things that you can do to make sure your content is killing it in 2017.
First: go buy a gigantic calendar! This thing is going to do you amazing things! Now what goes on this calendar you may ask? You want to put in health events, national days and so on. October is breast cancer awareness, diabetes month is in November. The reason why you want to put these holidays and events, that you probably already have in your noggin, on your calendar is because you need to pre-plan your content, at least 3-4 weeks before the actual event. Plan out specials, create your images, write your blogs, shoot your videos. Get all of your marketing and advertising assets together for that event.
Another thing that this calendar is going to help you do is help you get involved in your community. Make sure that you are putting other people’s events. Grand openings, chamber events, coffee get togethers, anything that’s going on in your community, put those on there. You want to highlight those. You want to be scratching other peoples backs because they will then feel the need to scratch your back, which is what it’s all about.
The last thing that you need to make sure that you are doing for your content calendar is fill out the entire thing for the entire year. The reason why is you need something to keep you accountable. All of us have marketing, and payroll, and H.R., and employees, and inventory. If you’re not careful, content will get pushed to the side, so keep yourself accountable with your calendar.
