Hey everybody and welcome to #DigitalMarketingScript! I’m Carl Britton Jr and today we’re talking about snapchat.
Snapchat is no longer that creepy little app for your secret little pictures. You can use it to market your business. It might have been easy to write off initially, but between December of 2015 to the end of May 2016, Snapchat has grown from 110 million users a day to over 150 million. That is huge and very significant. It has now surpassed Twitter, Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook messenger daily users. This is a huge well in which you can find your audience. Here are a few ways you can do that.
First and probably the most impactful is having custom snapchat filters. We create snapchat filters for some of our clients and you can check them out on this video right here(https://youtu.be/U2m2URI9_Rs). Your snapchat filter will allow any user inside of a predetermined fenced off area to see and use your custom filter when they take a picture or short video to share with all their friends. This is a very cool and very fun way of engaging with people in a less typical salesman way. Setting up a personal filter sounds scary and expensive, but it’s certainly not. Feel free to contact us for your own personal quote!
Filters can be a great way to promote something special to your business, to give back to the community, to highlight a certain product or service or to just let everyone know that you’re awesome. Whatever it is, it needs to be fun and engaging. Something that people will want to use and tell their friends about.
The easiest and most effective way that you’re going to be able to get users or friends on snapchat is going to be by your snap code. This what a snap code looks like: https://ntheirface.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/snapcode-150×150.png Promoting this snap code on your different social media platforms facebook, instagram, twitter. Putting it around your location on little cards for people to scan is going to be the best way you to get friends so you have a larger audience to speak to on snapchat.
Creating content on snapchat is very important. It needs to be engaging and interesting or have some kind of value. Having a filter that says “Buy1Get1 Free” is going to be way less engaging than a filter that says “So-and-so supports the Tigers!” or whatever. You can make an ad that works with the user and gets your name out, without it being sell, sell sell. Finding that balance is important and a part of the process.
One thing we like to talk about is what you can do on your snapchat account. Give a behind the scenes sneak peak at your business or give a little preview of a service or product that you’re going to be offering in the future. It’s also a really great way to introduce employees. You can do coupons, discounts or offer giveaways but the most important part about snapchat is making sure that your content is fun, interesting and valuable. Knowing that balance is essential for creating a fun and engaging account. One that people will want to look at and show their friends.
Thank you so much for joining us today, I’m Carl Britton Jr and I’ll see you next time!
