Hey everybody and welcome to #DigitalMarketingScript, I’m Carl Britton Jr and today we’re going to talk about topics on social media that are controversial.

On your personal social media, it’s okay to talk about things that you want to. On your business pages, you may want to hold back or change the narrative. Here are a few topics that could be controversial and how to post about them.

On your business page, people may not want to know if you’re a Trumpeter or if you feel the Bern. I believe that should separate your business from politics, unless of course if your business is politics. If it’s not, I strongly suggest you just avoid them in general.

Mary Jane. Marijuana. Medical marijuana, in Oklahoma, and in a lot of other states, is very taboo. As a medical professional, we like to leave this open-ended, because there’s a lot of people that support it and there’s a lot of people that don’t. So leave your questions or our posts open-ended when it has to do with medical marijuana.

Finally, Big Pharma. The general public can sometimes get confused between Big Pharma and pharmacies. They relate those two, in a lot of cases, as the same thing. Educating your clients that you are not the maker of EpiPen. You are not the one jacking up the price. You want to make sure that hey are educated that you are not Big Pharma, but you are a pharmacy and are on their side.

Thank you so much for joining me today on the #DigitalMarketingScript, I’m Carl Britton Jr and I want to know how you handle controversial subjects!
